Color choices

We wanted to select colors that would be true to the style of the house, allow it to blend into its surroundings but not get lost in the woods. A weekend driving around staring at houses and roofs and we know what we didn't want! Another week, and some play time on the Certainteed interactive website (http://colorview.certainteed.com) and we made up our minds.

The siding will be "Silver Ash", a soft taupe. The roof will be "Birchword", a medium grey with a cobblestone feel to it. And the trim just below the roofline will be "Box of Nails" which is a warm gray. The look is elegant, with a natural feel to it. It tones down the formality of the style without betraying the elegant lines. We're happy!

Let's hope the kitchen will go as smoothly. Probably not!
