With the second floor framed and the roofline beginning to be defined, you can begin to see just what the house will look line. Gary was right, we can finally "see" the house!

A view from the driveway and a closer look at the front of the house.

Views from behind. Tom loves the windows in the four-season room. You can see where the deck will be with access from the kitchen as well as the four-season room.

A view of the four-season room from the entryway. That great hole is the fireplace, which will be flanked with a pair of French doors leading out.

A view of the hall from the Kitchen, Tom's heading for the bedroom. The guest bath to his left and the entry on the right.

The kitchen and the library, with a view of the garage beyond.

These pictures, take from the second floor guest room overlook the entry and master bedroom.

The main bath is pictured here on the left and below is my studio.

Tom on the stairway and the third bedroom.

  1. This is the way it's supposed to be and why people build. Being excited about the progression from bare lot to dream house. I am so glad you have done this blog and while comments may be minimal rest assured people are viewing it ( I see to that!)

  2. It is incredibly exciting. We weren't really comfortable with the idea of building to begin with - it was more of a final option for us. We thought it was going to be too hard and, especially in this economy, too risky. But we are actually having a great deal of fun with it. I think because we have more support than we expected. Mike listens carefully and gives us great advice.

So far as comments, my original intention with this blog was to keep family and friends, scattered all over the country, up to date on the adventure. So I haven't done anything in the way advertising this blog. In spite of that I'm getting tons of views and a lot of comments directly via e-mail. Keep bring folk here and I'll keep writing - we are just getting to the fun part!
